The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is a big test that people take to become financial experts. Let’s look at how many people passed the first part of this test recently.

In November 2024:
- 43 out of every 100 people passed
- This is a little lower than before:
- In August, 44 out of 100 passed
- In May, 46 out of 100 passed
Some interesting facts:
- People taking the test for the first time did better:
- 49 out of 100 first-timers passed
- Only 29 out of 100 passed when they had delayed taking the test before
The good news is that more people are passing now compared to 2021, when COVID-19 made things difficult. Over the last 10 years, usually about 40 out of 100 people pass this test, so the current results are still pretty good!
Rob Langrick, an important person at the CFA Institute, said there’s a big difference between how well people do when they take the test right away versus when they wait and take it later. Taking the test as soon as you’re ready seems to be the better choice!
